Hello! Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Shalette Freeman. I grew up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I graduated from MTSU with a Bachelors Degree and attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. I taught one year in Nashville Public Schools. I also taught 3 years in First Grade here at Blackman Elementary and the rest has been in Kindergarten. I have 2 boys that I adore. I love to sing in my church choir, I love sports, good food, good movies and I enjoy reading a good book. It is an honor and my priviledge to be your child's Teacher!
Learning Intentions for the Week:
April 23-27
Reading: Close Read: The Tiny Seed
Writing: Complete sentences with correct capitalization/punctuation, sound spelling
Phonics: AntonymsLong Vowels/Vowel Teams, Add/Substitute sounds/letters to make new words,
spell ccvc and cvce words
Sight Words: who
Vocabulary Words: drifts, burst, looms
Math: Identify coins
Science/SS: Plants/Living Things

April 17th- Field Trip to MTSU: Spring Fling Ag Day
April 16th-30th- TCAP Testing Activities
May 1st- No School/Election Day
Rotation Schedule: 

Day 1- P.E. 2 (wear tennis shoes)

Day 2- Music 1

Day 3- Library (Bring Library books to class each day)

Day 4- P.E. 1 (wear tennis shoes)

Day 5- Music 2

Day 6- Guidance


*Special Area Rotations will be Mass Rotations in the gymnasium from 8:30-9:00 a.m.


*Tuesdays only: Art (9:35-10:20)
*Lunch: 10:30-10:55
