Mission Statement
School counselors have a goal to improve student outcomes for each and every student by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program (CSCP).
Vision Statement
School counselors help each and every student:
- Apply successful academic achievement strategies
- Plan for post-secondary options (work-force, higher education, military, etc.)
- Self-regulate emotions and apply interpersonal skills
Beliefs
- We believe each and every student can achieve growth in their own social, personal, and academically developmental level. We believe each and every student has a right to access supports for growth.
- Each and every student is capable of becoming a productive member of society.
- Each and every student is worthy of love, has a right to feel safe and welcome at school, and can be taught skills for self-regulation and self-management.
- We believe all school community stakeholders, including district and school administration, school staff, and local families are involved in the planning, management, delivery, and evaluation of the school counseling program.
- We believe qualitative and quantitative data must be utilized to inform decisions in the development of the CSCP that aims to close developmental gaps and provide each and every student with access to academic success.
- We commit to adhering to school counseling professional and ethical standards, fully understanding our responsibility to do no harm.
